62 days unti Christmas...

...and I'm sooooo ready!!!:-) I know, it's only Fall. Maybe if we had a true "Fall" in Florida I would want it to slow down more but we don't. The weather is nicer but that's about it. As my girls get older, Halloween is a little more laid back. Thanksgiving is a wonderful Holiday but has never been my "favorite" so for me, I'm ready to give in and start getting ready for Christmas. On that note, I found a picture of a mirror I want to make. I've seen wreaths like this but I want a mirror for my foyer. How cute is this??? I saw it somewhere online and fell in love with it! I may only get a small one made this year butI definitely want to hunt for a cheap mirror and get started! If only I had more vintage ornaments...something to work on for next year, for sure!

China & Cameos

Look what I found at my favorite little antique shop...a few beautiful PINK pieces of Limoges China!!! I have hated my boring (yet very classic) china for years. What was I thinking??? Ayway, in my effort to replace it i have been scouring shops for awhile now, looking for odds and ends pieces to make a set of china. (I think I first read about this in Shabby Chic, by Rachel Ashwell) Anyway, it's kind of fun to grab a few pieces here and there. Even though all of the pieces may be different, they will definitely have that "shabby" pink feel.

I also found this beautiful cameo. It was hard to get a closeup shot but it's a copper color with swarovski crystals around it and a gold base. Now I can't decide what to do with it!:-)

Flower Power Pens

I'm hung up on one of my all-time favorite projects...flower pens. They are soooo simple to make yet so pretty. Here are a few I made recently and will list on etsy. I have made these as a "first day of school" flower bouquet for my daughter's teachers for years. They love them (and recently requested them, which explains my flower mood.) these are "flowers" they can truly use all year long. When other teachers saw them, they would place their own order (even after I told them they were nothing to make:-) I learned it was also important to warm up to the school office staff and they love how these brighten their desk area. I'm sending one in to the ballet studio and they work great at any office, store and even my vet loves them. Cute, super easy and *cheap* to make gift idea!

More Bottle Brush Christmas Trees

In keeping with the Christmas spirit for one more post, look what I found at T.J.Maxx last night...a cream bottle brush tree to add to my collection. Now I have to hit the other TJ Maxx's in town, too. I also read how you can bleach the green trees and dye them yourself so as soon as I find a bunch of the little trees, I'm going to give it a try!

In a Christmas Mood...

I'm listening to Christmas music and looking through a new Christmas Ideas magazine. I do love Fall but can't help wishing for Christmas! Happy Friday!!!

Happy Birthday Phil!

We love you and wish you many more!
My favorite birthday wish when blowing out the candles came from Frank Sinatra who said the only wish he makes when blowing out the candles each year is to wish for one more birthday!:0)
